LET ME TELL YOU THE STORY OF A WOMAN I KNOW.
She works 60 hours a week at a desk job, 5 days a week.
It’s a stressful job, she’s had it for 12 years and in the beginning she ate to deal with her stress.
Over the years she gained a 100+ pounds. Then she made a decision to start dealing with stress and her weight by changing what she ate.
Over the course of 18 months she lost 60#.
WHEN I FIRST MET HER, THE THOUGHTS SHE WAS THINKING WERE, “THIS IS TOO SLOW, WHY ISN’T IT WORKING?” “WHAT’S THE MATTER WITH ME?”
Those thoughts resulted in her feeing depressed, sad, defeated, and close to giving up.
She still had 40+ pounds to go, after all.
I challenged her to examine her thinking.
